Question:  Hello,  I’ve owned a Best Zapper for a few years now, and I love it but it finally started malfunctioning.  It seems to operate normally, except that the charge LED is consistently very, very weak. My multimeter measures under 2 volts on all programs except the green programs, which are outputting about 5.5 volts or so. This is with multiple sets of brand new batteries.  Do you offer a repair program? This isn’t a warranty request, of course. I just happen to really like your zappers, much more than your competition.  Thanks!  W

Answer:  Hello,  No worries, it sounds like your zapper is operating normally except for the weak green LED, likely caused by the straps needing replacement.  Testing on a multi meter will always give misleading results because the output is not a flat voltage – it’s a precisely modulated square wave with an average voltage of 2-2.5v and amplitude of 10.1 volts peak to peak. It’s only possible to see this clearly on an oscilloscope.

See our post on reasons why your green light may not light up on your zapper.

We hope this helps,
