Question: May I zap with a foreign object in my body such as an implant, metal plate, pacemaker, stent?
Answer:
ZAPPING with Implants, Metal, Pacemakers, Stents, rods, etc. Yes, you may zap safely, but with a Pacemaker we issue a caution. Please refer to the pacemaker section for some caution. If you have an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator or a “smart pacemaker”, you MUST use the “leg zapping” approach, to prevent current from entering the torso. The Zappicator is also not a problem, but we give a caution for placing it on a pacemaker of any kind. Do not place the Zappicator directly over the Pacemaker. For other areas of the body that may contain metal, use the Zappicator with the NORTH or Label side towards the body only. Do not place the south side of the zappicator towards the body.
