Question: How can I tell if the zapper is working properly? Do I need a Hz reader? We have dropped the box once. Didn’t know if we might shake something loose. This is a technical question, not a medical question. – AO
Answer: Good question. The AutoZap 5 Zapper is rugged and can withstand a lot of abuse, though we recommend treating it well to give you a lifetime of good zapping.
You can extend the life of your AutoZap by removing the batteries if you intend to let it sit for a long time (months or longer),as batteries can leak into the battery compartment causing your device to fail.
The SenseAlert light is your visible confirmation that your AutoZap is indeed working as it should. There are some things to cause the SenseAlert light to go out. These would be a break in your wire, a loose handhold or wrist strap, an intermittent connector, a battery problem, and even contacts that are not wet enough or not carrying the frequency to you in the circuit.
That SenseAlert light tells you that your device is working. If the SenseAlert light is NOT lit when you are zapping, you know that something is not right. You can begin to look for the problem – broken wire, dead battery or other issue. It is that simple.
