Answer: Thank you for your question of temperature, whether extreme cold (as in an airplane), or extreme heat (as in Arizona) affects the Zapper.
We ship the AutoZap 5 and Zappicator all over the world by air and so they undergo temperatures in the cargo of an airplane, as well as temperatures in transit. The only problem we have encountered so far is that the batteries in the AutoZap 5 may have slightly less life and require changing sooner than we had anticipated.
As with most electronic equipment, keep them out of the direct hot sun. I usually cover electronic gadgets with a towel when in the direct sun. I recommend keeping the units in the temperature where you are such as your house, your car, or your backpack, and they should be just fine.
